Kati Basti is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment designed to soothe, nourish, and support the lower back and sacral region. During the treatment, a reservoir made from herbal dough is gently placed over the lower back and filled with warm medicated oil. The oil is retained within this area for an extended period, allowing its therapeutic qualities to penetrate deeply into the nerves which meet at the base of the spine.
This deeply comforting therapy combines the healing properties of warmth and herbalised oils to help ease tension, stiffness, and discomfort while nourishing the muscles, joints, nerves, and surrounding tissues. Prior to the oil retention, a gentle massage is performed to further support circulation and relaxation.
Kati Basti is traditionally recommended for those experiencing lower back tension, physical strain, age-related stiffness, or periods of increased Vata imbalance. This is also recommended as a treatment for those who spend much of their day sitting in front of a computer. Three of these treatments spaced one week apart is recommended for long term or chronic lower back pain.

As a small independent practice, treatment space is hired specifically for your appointment, and late cancellations or missed appointments result in costs that cannot always be recovered.
To ensure the sustainability of my practice, the following cancellation policy applies:
More than 24 hours’ notice: Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge.
Less than 24 hours’ notice: A cancellation fee of 50% of the treatment price applies.
Less than 12 hours’ notice or failure to attend: The full treatment fee applies.
I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and genuine emergencies will always be considered with compassion.
