Nasya is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves the gentle administration of medicated herbal oils into the nasal passages. In Ayurveda, the nose is considered the gateway to the head, making Nasya a powerful treatment for supporting the sinuses, respiratory system, mind, and sensory organs.
The treatment begins with a soothing face massage, focused especially around the sinus area, followed by gentle steam to prepare the tissues. Carefully selected herbal oils are then administered into the nostrils, helping to lubricate and nourish the nasal passages while encouraging the release of accumulated congestion and excess Kapha from the head and neck region.
Nasya is both cleansing and rejuvenating. It is traditionally used to support mental clarity, ease tension in the head and face, and promote a greater sense of lightness and balance.
Benefits may include:
Support for sinus congestion and seasonal allergies
Improved mental clarity and concentration
Relief from tension in the head, neck and jaw
Nourishment of the nasal passages and respiratory system
Support for healthy sleep and nervous system function
A greater sense of clarity, calm and wellbeing
Gentle yet profound, Nasya offers an opportunity to clear both physical and mental stagnation, creating space for clearer breathing, clearer thinking, and a deeper connection to your natural state of balance.
“When the channels of the head are clear, the mind becomes calm and perception becomes bright.” — Ayurvedic wisdom.
